Gill is accused of attempting to stoke a rift within the military and was apprehended on Tuesday in Banigala Chowk.
Several sections of the Pakistan Penal Code, including sections 124-A (sedition), 131 (aiding mutiny, or attempting to seduce a soldier, sailor, or airman from his duty), and 153 (wantonly giving provocation with intent to cause riot if rioting be committed; were all used to file a sedition case against him at Kohsar Police Station.
among others, 505 (statements encouraging public mischief), 153-A (raising animosity between various groups, etc.), and 506 (penalty for illegal intimidation).
The wife and a relative of Gill's driver were also taken into custody by Islamabad Police on Thursday during a raid on the grounds of rioting and assault on law enforcement.
